A 14-year-old boy who was shot four times Sunday has been released from the hospital.

The boy was with his family inside a home on Seventh Avenue when bullets from a drive-by shooting tore through the house.

Witnesses say the boy was not the intended target. Another juvenile visiting the home was the subject of the attack.

Police have not yet made an arrest in the case.

A Cleveland Middle School science teacher has been suspended.

37-year-old Jeffrey Robinson is placed on unpaid leave after being charged with domestic assault.

He’s accused of assaulting his girlfriend at her Cleveland home Sunday morning and leaving her with a lump on her forehead.

His first hearing is set September 3rd.

A Spencer Tennessee man is charged with reckless homicide in his wife’s death.

The TBI says 34-year-old Joshua Brandon Simmons showed up at an emergency room with his injured wife, Jerrica.

He told police he accidentally ran over her with his pickup truck. She later died.

Now he’s being held on a $50,000 dollar bond.

A new list ranks the safest cities in Tennessee.

Collegedale came in 14th on the list.

Soddy-Daisy was named the third safest midsize city.

Signal Mountain comes in second overall. It has the lowest percentage of property crimes.

And Loudon ranks first. The town had only five violent crimes last year.

A 17-year-old Chattanooga girl is missing.

Authorities say Serina Miracle has not been seen since August 13th and has a history of running away.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police.

A rape charge against a former Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum employee has been dismissed.

Charles David Pugh is suspected of raping as many as eight boys while working at the museum.

And he was accused of molesting a 16-year-old boy in 2010.

Judge Clarence Shattuck said there’s no question in the court’s mind that the event occurred. But prosecutors could not prove it happened within the statue of limitations.

Two Cleveland police officers are asking a judge to overturn their punishment after a sex scandal.

Jeffrey Griggs and Steve Tyson were reassigned after Griggs caught his wife in a car with his boss. Griggs was demoted for lying during the investigation. Tyson was reassigned for failure to report Griggs’ arrest.

Now the pair claim they were punished under policies that didn’t actually exist and they say their right to due process was violated.

Gas prices have fallen below two dollars a gallon in the Chattanooga area.

Prices have dropped nearly 25 cents in the past month and are about a dollar less than they were a year ago.

Analysts say they expect prices to continue to decline.

A Georgia lawmaker has introduced a bill to ban the sale or purchase of fetal tissue in the state.

The bill from Representative Wendell Willard comes after sting videos involving Planned Parenthood.

Five Tennessee senators are also calling on Governor Bill Haslam to enact emergency rules on abortion.

They want him to authorize the TBI to investigate abortion facilities.
