87. Tee Lee: We had paper dots (candy buttons) in the 60's and 70's, too. Some places still sell them. I don't know why specifically they were on paper, but I assume it was to keep kids busy. You suck on the candy until the paper can come off - rub it off and finish the candy. Sugar daddy was awesome!

Yes, the candy on the paper was always a pain but you would usually eat the candy and the wet paper you just fish out of your mouth. Other candy growing up in the 60's that was unique were rock candy and candy cigs. I used to always buy the Jawbreakers at the movies (5 cents a box).
